Koyo Radiator Arrival

My Koyo radiator arrived today. It has a really nice gloss black finish, and is made from aluminum. It also came with the Koyo 1.3kgf/cm Hyper Cap. Just checked with UPS and the GReddy intercooler should be here tomorrow. Here some pictures of the unboxing.

-Set it on the scale, it weighed in around 10lbs.

Gotta Keep My Cool

Recently purchased a KoyoRad radiator of eBay. FRSport is awesome, I recomend anyone to go there. They have a great selection of parts for great prices (They did not pay me to say that. That's how awesome they are). USP tracking says that it should be here by Monday. Also just purchased a GReddy LS Spec Intercooler about 5 minutes ago. It's crazy because I feel like I am dreaming when I compare some of my more recent post to the past ones. Just a couple of years ago I would have thought that seeing one of these cars on the road was next to impossible, yet alone for me to own and build one. Wow! Thank you God for allowing me to do this.

More Cleaning and Prep

Today turned out to be a pretty good day. I was able to clean out the engine bay very thoroughly and bring the surface to a point that is ready to be primed and painted. I also finished off the dent that was in the roof. That is now ready to be painted. Everything seems to be coming along nice and smooth, which makes me happy. I just need to figure out a way to take out the battery tray so I can make a hole for the front mount intercooler (which I don't have yet) piping.
-Full shot of the engine bay nice and dirty

-Close up shot of one of the trouble areas

-Left hand wheel well. (Dull and dark spots are not dirt, just exposed primer.)

-3/4 shot of the right hand wheel well and fire wall. (Don't pay attention to the battery tray, that has to come out.)

-Back side of the right hand shock tower. (The rag is to keep out water from leaking into the interior.)

-Windshield wiper connector arm whatchmacallit thing area. Don't know the real name of this...

-Firewall

-Transmission hull

-Steering rack

-Used to be a "silver dollar" sized dent here, probably from hail or heavy keys, either way it's not here any more.

Break Time is Over

It's time to get some more work done from a well deserved break. I did not really work on my car this weekend, even though I wanted to, it's kind of better if I sometimes take a reprieve to make sure that the creative juices don't run out. My birthday is tomorrow also, hopefully I can find a way to get the radiator and intercooler that I need to get my motor running. I also hope that I'll have enough to buy the paint for my car, now that I have my spray guns (will post later), I can get started on that also.

KA24DE Removal (Better Pics)

Well today I got some better pictures of the aftermath of the KA removal. I also took everything off of the KA motor to try and sell to someone in need of some KA24 parts. After that I to the block to the scrap yard, that thing was still heavy as the bare block alone. Now that it is finally out of my way it is time to start cleaning the engine bay and getting it prepared to be primed and painted. Still have not decided between "pikes peak white" or "smoky grey mica" for a color yet but I have plenty of work to do before it is time to do that. Here are the better pictures of the car, didn't get any of the motor because I forgot my camera before I took it away.

KA24DE Removal

Yes! It's finally out. I woke up this morning feeling determined to get this thing out. I was tired of looking at it with my SR sitting almost ready to be implanted. Now that it is out, I can continue to clean the engine bay and prep it to be painted. I only got a couple of pictures with my phone because I forgot my camera at home, and I removed it alone so I did not want any accidents to occur. I will get some better shots of it tomorrow. It was a very smooth removal. I was nervous because I had never removed a motor before, especially by myself. It only took about 2-3mins after getting the chain wrapped and secured to remove it. The only thing that I messed up was I forgot to drain the trans fluid, so as soon as the motor was lifted there was a pool of trans fluid all over the floor. It looked like I was performing emergency surgery, removing a vital organ from the paitent and then blood splattering everywhere. It is amazing how heavy that motor was, it looks like the car raised 2-4inches after it was taken out. Anyways here are the pictures. (like I said before, better pics tomorrow)

The Patient is Almost Ready Doctor

I've gotta remove the old motor before I can get the SR motor in. Also, I want to clean, sand, primer and re-paint the engine bay before the SR goes in.
