Well I finally got some time to get around to paint my engine bay. I think it came out really good. Here are some pix of the day.

Mean and Green

Got the primer laid down today. I tried to get it as even as I could all over, so I hope the finished product comes out good.

FINISHED (I think...)

After countless hours and countless feet of electrical tape, I have finished my SR20 wiring. Now to anyone that is familiar with swapping a SR motor my be confused because the F4 wires are usually repined into the m63 harness from the KA24. My method uses the (female) M64 harness and the (male) F4 harness together to make the harnesses work as one. So I will be able to plug in the (SR) F4 plug into the converter, and the converter into the M64 interior plug, and everything SHOULD work fine. I tried to make the converter look as "one piece" as possible. If this works, I will try to create a "S14 SR to S14" guide because good information is hard to find on this swap, and people like me who like to do everything yourself will really be able to benefit and save some time.

Color Chosen (finally)

I finally chose a color for my car. It's called Smoky Granite Mica. It's actually a Lexus color, I noticed it on the IS-F car. I think those are awesome, it is my favorite car to drift on GT5 Prologue. Anyways, I really like the way this color looks, depending on the light it can appear to be black or metallic gray.

GReddy Intercooler Arrival

Today my GReddy intercooler came. This thing is awesome. I want to polish the end tanks up and get my finger prints off of it. I just need to make some brackets to fit it to the chassis and get some piping to fit it to the turbo and intake. Here are the pictures...

Wiring Harness Work

Right now this might look like a mess, but within all this mess will slowly but surely come back together. After I'm done and this has been tested, I will make a comprehensive guide for other S14 owners that may be planning a S14 SR20 swap because trying to find a good wiring diagram was like trying to find out KFC's secret recipe. Wish me luck...

Spread the Good News

Although this has nothing to do with the build of my car, I feel that it is important enough to post here. Last week at E3, the very anticipated announcement of Gran Turismo 5, and Gran Turismo for PSP Go was made. The Gran Turismo series was a huge influence to my love for cars and driving.

Koyo Radiator Arrival

My Koyo radiator arrived today. It has a really nice gloss black finish, and is made from aluminum. It also came with the Koyo 1.3kgf/cm Hyper Cap. Just checked with UPS and the GReddy intercooler should be here tomorrow. Here some pictures of the unboxing.

Gotta Keep My Cool

Recently purchased a KoyoRad radiator of eBay. FRSport is awesome, I recomend anyone to go there. They have a great selection of parts for great prices (They did not pay me to say that. That's how awesome they are). USP tracking says that it should be here by Monday. Also just purchased a GReddy LS Spec Intercooler about 5 minutes ago. It's crazy because I feel like I am dreaming when I compare some of my more recent post to the past ones. Just a couple of years ago I would have thought that seeing one of these cars on the road was next to impossible, yet alone for me to own and build one. Wow! Thank you God for allowing me to do this.

More Cleaning and Prep

Today turned out to be a pretty good day. I was able to clean out the engine bay very thoroughly and bring the surface to a point that is ready to be primed and painted. I also finished off the dent that was in the roof. That is now ready to be painted. Everything seems to be coming along nice and smooth, which makes me happy. I just need to figure out a way to take out the battery tray so I can make a hole for the front mount intercooler (which I don't have yet) piping.
-Full shot of the engine bay nice and dirty

-Close up shot of one of the trouble areas

-Left hand wheel well. (Dull and dark spots are not dirt, just exposed primer.)

-3/4 shot of the right hand wheel well and fire wall. (Don't pay attention to the battery tray, that has to come out.)

-Back side of the right hand shock tower. (The rag is to keep out water from leaking into the interior.)

-Windshield wiper connector arm whatchmacallit thing area. Don't know the real name of this...

-Firewall

-Transmission hull

-Steering rack

-Used to be a "silver dollar" sized dent here, probably from hail or heavy keys, either way it's not here any more.

Break Time is Over

It's time to get some more work done from a well deserved break. I did not really work on my car this weekend, even though I wanted to, it's kind of better if I sometimes take a reprieve to make sure that the creative juices don't run out. My birthday is tomorrow also, hopefully I can find a way to get the radiator and intercooler that I need to get my motor running. I also hope that I'll have enough to buy the paint for my car, now that I have my spray guns (will post later), I can get started on that also.
